Our founder
The journey into AI and data analytics started during an internship at a forward-thinking tech company. It quickly became clear that the real power of technology wasn’t in replacing people it was in helping them connect more deeply, solve problems faster, and truly understand each other.
While many chased automation for efficiency, the focus shifted toward something more meaningful: using AI to bring back the human touch in customer experience. After seeing firsthand how broken and impersonal support systems had become, there was no turning back.
That moment sparked a mission to build something that used technology not just to scale businesses, but to restore what mattered most: real connection, real service, and real impact.
Our story
I’ve always had a thing for AI and software. Not in the flashy, sci-fi kind of way more in the “how can we use this to actually make life better?” kind of way. I liked tech that solved real problems. But for a long time, I was stuck in a system that didn’t seem to use it that way.
I was done. Fed up with watching customers get passed around like hot potatoes. Tired of scripted responses that solved nothing. Exhausted by a setup that treated people like ticket numbers. I had already drafted my resignation letter when the flood hit.
A system glitch dumped three days’ worth of customer inquiries into the queue all at once. Hundreds of frustrated people, all needing real help, all getting the same copy-paste responses. It was 2 AM, and I was staring at my screen knowing I could walk away or I could try something different.
So I started doing what I always believed tech should help us do: listen better, respond smarter. I actually listened. Really listened. Each customer had a story. The small business owner whose payment system crashed during her biggest sales day. The elderly man trying to reach his grandchildren through a video call that wouldn’t connect. The student whose project files had vanished days before graduation.
I stopped following the standard script and started treating each person like a human being. I asked better questions. I stayed on calls longer than policy allowed. I connected dots the system kept missing. And something happened: problems actually got solved. Not just ticket numbers moved around real problems, for real people.
By morning, I had cleared the entire backlog something that should’ve taken the whole team a week. But more than that, I saw something clearly: the technology was already there to help us, not replace us. AI could handle the data, the routing, the repetitive tasks but it still needed human insight to understand what people truly needed.
So instead of quitting, I walked into Andrietta van Zyl’s office with a different kind of proposal.
“I want to build something,” I told her. “Not just better customer service something that proves you don’t have to choose between scale and caring.”
Andrietta listened. Really listened. She saw what I saw: an opportunity to flip the script on how businesses connect with customers. We could make AI work for humanity, not the other way around.
Together, we built Experoc from that idea. She brought the business vision to help me turn a late-night breakthrough into something scalable and real. We created the first true AI-human hybrid customer experience platform where tech handles the chaos, so people can focus on connection.
The results spoke for themselves. Customer satisfaction didn’t just rise it soared. Resolution times dropped, and relationship quality skyrocketed. Clients weren’t just being helped they were being understood.
Andrietta played a key role in laying our foundation before moving on to new ventures. Today, I still lead Experoc with the same conviction that drove me that night: that behind every customer query is a person who deserves to be heard, understood, and genuinely helped.
From one frustrated support agent who refused to settle for “that’s just how it is,” to a company reshaping customer experience Experoc was born out of a simple belief: when you combine the right tech with the right heart, everything changes.
